Tél.phonie ip en entreprise

IP telephony is an indispensable technology that transmits communication via the Internet.

It offers many advantages, especially if you have employees working remotely or who are often out of the office. Not only is it inexpensive, but it is also secure and perfectly confidential if the supplier masters the subject. In order to install your system correctly and enjoy all its benefits, here are a few requirements:

Check the Quality of Your Internet Connection

To take advantage of the stability and other benefits that Cloud IP telephony offers, you must first have a good internet connection. Therefore, before implementing your IP telephony system, check to make sure that your bandwidth is sufficient for your number of users.

Choose the Right Solution

To use VoIP telephony, you need the right equipment, but you also need a solution that can interface with the company’s Information System (IS) or computer network. This is one of the most common installation issues.

That is why your IP telephony provider is responsible for understanding your needs, evaluating your existing IS, and advising you on the best configuration. Keep in mind that although most of the solutions available on the market support the basic telephony features (call display, call forwarding, three-way calling, advanced voicemail, speed dialing, etc.), some offer additional features. However, the most important requirement is that whatever solution you choose can interface easily with your company’s Information System, and ideally nowadays, integrate with your existing customer relationship management software (CRM, ERP).

Check Your Company’s Cabling

Because its condition can affect the quality of your communications, it is also important that you check your premises cabling, or lower layers, before installing an IP telephony network. This will save you from any additional costs and prevent long delays when it comes time to implement your project.

Invest in High-Performance Network Equipment

When implementing IP telephony, you must first ensure that your router and switches are adapted to this technology. Ideally, they should offer remote management and support the company’s IP phones, otherwise you run the risk of installing an IP telephony network that will not function properly. Moreover, if you do not wish to have a power adapter connected to each phone, investing in a switch that offers a PoE (Power over Ethernet) feature will come in handy. Keep in mind that no matter your company’s configuration or infrastructure, you are sure to find a router and switch model that will meet your needs.
